Richard Edwards is a Paediatric & Adult Neurosurgeon based in Bristol, United Kingdom. He completed his Neurosurgery Residency in Bristol in 2005 and in 2006 completed a fellowship in Paediatric Neurosurgery at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada. In 2010 he completed a doctorate thesis on endoscopic choroid plexus coagulation for the treatment of communicating hydrocephalus. He runs a dedicated adult hydrocephalus service for the South West UK region, the largest service of its kind in the UK. He is a member of the Adult Hydrocephalus Clinical Research Network (AHCRN). His research interests include clinical trials in hydrocephalus; patient selection in Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus; shunt design; and the endoscopic treatment of communicating hydrocephalus. He is the current Chairman of the CSF Group of the Society of British Neurological Surgeons and a Board Member of the Hydrocephalus Society.
